The summer field trip (July 27-28, 2019) will give you a chance to learn about Western Maine Pegmatites (3 quarries will be visited)  and the surficial geology of the Ellis River Valley.  Myles Felch of the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum has put together a very interesting 2 day trip.  You will have the opportunity to collect minerals in the quarries. You must register for the field trip as space is limited (see registration information below).

On the second day, K-12 educators will be given mineral identification basics by the field trip leaders and an opportunity to put together their own mineral collection.  We strongly encourage the K-12 teachers to come and they only have to pay a $10 registration even if they are non-members.  If you know of non-member K-12 educators, please let them know of this rare opportunity.

A detailed description of the trip and information about how to register can be found here.
